Painter and decorator in Portslade
Portslade sits right next to Hove, so it is home ground. The housing splits between the old village up the hill and the newer streets down towards the sea, and each needs a slightly different approach.
Hove Decor is a painter and decorator covering Portslade and BN41, next door to my base in Hove. Twenty years of interior and exterior decorating across the village's older cottages and the newer housing of Portslade-by-Sea, plus commercial units. Fully insured, work never subcontracted.
Portslade Village and older homes
Up around Portslade Village and the older streets you get period cottages and solid-walled houses that want careful preparation and, where the walls are solid, breathable finishes. I do interior and exterior work on these, including the woodwork and detail that older homes live or die on.
Portslade-by-Sea and modern housing
Down towards the sea the housing is newer, terraced and mixed, and closer to the coast means more exposure to salt and weather on exterior paint. Here it is about durable exterior systems and good preparation so a repaint holds, plus the everyday interior decorating families need.
Commercial and trade units
Portslade has a good deal of commercial and light-industrial space near the estate. I take on commercial decorating for units, offices and lettings, worked around your hours to keep disruption low.
FAQ
Painting and decorating in Portslade
Do you cover both Portslade Village and Portslade-by-Sea?
Yes, all of BN41, up at the village and down by the sea. Portslade is right next to my base in Hove, so it is an easy area for me to cover.
Do you do exterior work near the coast in Portslade?
Yes. Closer to the sea, exterior paint takes more of a beating from salt and weather, so I use durable exterior systems and put the work into preparation so the finish lasts.
