Hove is home. I have spent 20 years decorating its period houses, mansion blocks and terraces, and I know how the town's buildings and its seafront weather behave.
Hove Decor is a Hove-based painter and decorator with 20 years' experience, specialising in the period and Regency properties the town is known for. Interior and exterior work across BN3, from the seafront squares to the Victorian terraces inland. Fully insured, and the work is my own, not subcontracted.
The Regency squares and mansion blocks
Hove's seafront is defined by its Regency and Victorian set pieces: Brunswick Square, Palmeira Square, Adelaide Crescent and the grand mansion blocks along the front. These are the jobs I care most about. Breathable, traditional finishes on solid and stucco walls, sash windows repaired rather than painted over, and a sympathetic hand on listed and conservation-area properties. Salt air off the sea is hard on paint here, so the preparation matters as much as the finish.
Family homes and terraces inland
Away from the front, Hove is streets of Victorian and Edwardian terraces and family homes, from Poets Corner to the roads around Hove Park. I do the everyday decorating these need too: interior repaints, woodwork, hallways and full exterior schemes, worked tidily around families living in the house.
Communal blocks and freeholders
Hove has a lot of converted and purpose-built blocks, and I work with local managing agents and freeholders on communal hallways, stairwells and full exterior schemes, with Section 20 specifications where the works need them.
